1.6.1. Engine start-up

The engine it is possible get only original key Audi.

Completely tighten a manual brake.

Establish the gear change lever in neutral position (a control lever of automatic transmission in position Р or N).

Completely squeeze out a pedal of coupling of the car with a mechanical transmission.

After cold start-up the engine short time can work with the strengthened noise, the necessary pressure of oil in system of hydroindemnification of a backlash of valves will not be established yet. This normal phenomenon which should not cause alarm.

The given instruction appears on some cars with a mechanical transmission if at engine start-up the coupling pedal is not pressed. The engine it is possible get only under condition of pressing of a pedal of coupling.

Turn the ignition key in position 3 (fig. 1.143). Thus do not press an accelerator pedal.

As soon as the engine will be got, release a key. The starter should not rotate together with crankshaftом.

At start-up of the cold or heated-up engine to working temperature do not press a pedal of an accelerator neither before starter inclusion, nor during its work.

If the engine was not got at once, after nearby 10 спрекратите attempt of start-up and repeat it approximately in half-minute.

After start-up of very hot engine it can be necessary slightly to press an accelerator pedal.

Turn the ignition key in position 2 (fig. 1.143). The control lamp of system of a prestarting warming up lights up.

For engine start-up turn the ignition key in position 3 when the control lamp will go out. Thus do not press an accelerator pedal.

As soon as the engine will be got, release a key. The starter should not rotate together with crankshaftом.

Diesel engines are equipped by system of a prestarting warming up. Necessary time of a warming up is defined by temperature of a cooling liquid and external temperature.

In a prestarting warming up do not include powerful consumers of a current that it is vain not to overload the accumulator.

The engine to get at once as soon as the control lamp of a prestarting warming up will go out.

At start-up of the heated-up engine to working temperature, and also at air temperature above +8 С the control lamp of system of a prestarting warming up lights up approximately for one second. It means that the engine can be got at once.

If the engine was not got at once, after nearby 10 with stop attempt of start-up and repeat it approximately in half-minute.

If took place full израсходование a stock of diesel fuel in a tank after refuelling process of start-up of the engine can longer last usual (about one minute). It is connected with necessity of removal of air from fuel system during engine start-up.

Turn the ignition key in position 1 (fig. 1.143).

ATTENTION Switch off the engine only after a full stop of the car.

Amplifiers of a brake and steering drive work only at the included engine. Therefore at the switched off engine or on a brake pedal it is necessary to put to a steering wheel большее effort. It can become the reason of accidents and receptions of serious traumas as in the present state of affairs the car copes and brakes not as usually.
