2.9.17. Check of adjustment of phases timing

Shift of a cam-shaft of inlet valves occurs depending on loading and turns. At the expense of the electromagnetic valve of system of change of phases timing on the corresponding phase shifter oil under pressure (the mechanical device of shift) moves.

THE NOTE The system of change of phases timing can be involved only through 25 with the ambassador of start of the engine.

Check of electromagnetic valves of regulation of phases timing

Disconnect a socket 3 from the valve of 1 regulation of phases timing (fig. 2.468).

Turn off a broad tank of system of cooling.

Disconnect the electric wire conducting to the bottom switch of the indicator of low level of the cooling liquid, and to set aside aside a broad tank with the connected hoses.

Disconnect штекерный a socket 2 from the valve of 2 regulations of phases timing (fig. 2.469).

Connect a multimeter for resistance measurement on the valve (fig. 2.470).

Preset value: 8–13 Ohm.

If the preset value is not reached, replace the valve.

If a preset value in norm, check up power supplies giving.

Safety lock of the valve of regulation of phases timing

It should be serviceable.

The relay of food Motronic J271 should be serviceable.

THE NOTE Food giving on the valve of regulation of phases timing is made through the relay of food Motronic J271.

Connect a tester of pressure V.A.G 1527 B as follows.

Start for short time a starter.

The light-emitting diode should light up.

If the light-emitting diode does not light up, according to the electric equipment scheme check up absence of breakage of the cable connection going from contact 1 through safety lock to the relay of food Motronic – J271.

If necessary eliminate damage of connection of wires.

If the light-emitting diode has lighted up, check up excitation.

Connect a tester of pressure V.A.G 1527 B to contacts 1 (plus) and 2 штекерного a socket.

Connect tester VAS 5051 A and to choose in the menu of systems of the car 01 – engine Electronics. Ignition should be included.

In the field of a choice 1 will choose diagnostics function 03 – Stellglieddiagnose/03 – Diagnostics of an executive element (fig. 2.471).

Press the button> until the valve of 1 regulation of phases timing will join.

The light-emitting diode should blink.

Press the button> until the valve of 2 regulations of phases timing will join.

The light-emitting diode should blink.

Finish function 03 – Diagnostics of an executive element a contact <Keys.

Press on 06 – Ausgabe beenden/Finish a conclusion of the data.

Switch off ignition.

If the light-emitting diode does not blink or long time burns, connect the switchboard to штекерным to sockets of a plait of wires, the block of management of the engine do not connect. Connect the switchboard plug to weight (it is not represented in drawing 2.472).

ATTENTION To avoid damage of electronic components, before connection of wires of measuring devices it is necessary establish on them a corresponding range of measurement and observe rules of carrying out of diagnostics.

Check up other connections of wires on presence of breakage and short circuit on "weight" or plus.

If necessary eliminate damage of connection of wires.

If connection of wires is perfectly in order, replace the block of management of the engine.

If malfunction is not found out, replace the mechanical phase shifter.
