7.2.5. Removal and installation of the storage battery in a luggage carrier

ATTENTION On cars with system Telematik before switching-off АКБ activate an operating mode of the block of management Telematik. For the cars equipped with a radio tape recorder / by radio navigating system with a protective code (only cars of other manufacturers), consider a protective code, if necessary request it.

Switch off ignition and pull out the ignition key.

Lift and fix a rug of a luggage compartment.

Take the profile plug 5 behind the accumulator movement upwards (fig. 7.10).

Turn off a nut 6 on some turns and disconnect a wire of weight from a polar conclusion.

Cast away upwards a cover 2 positive poles.

Turn off a nut 1 on some turns and disconnect плюсовой a wire from a polar conclusion (fig. 7.10).

Disconnect a hose 7 central газоотвода.

Unscrew the screw 4 on fixing скобе 3 accumulators (fig. 7.10).

Take the accumulator from a lath of fastening of console AKB.

Take АКБ from a luggage carrier.

ATTENTION At recycling of accumulators necessarily observe instructions on recycling of accumulators and sulfuric acid.

Accumulators of the program of spare parts Audi have a basic lath-adapter for adaptation to a various lath of fastening. The information on presence and a way of use of a basic lath-adapter is resulted in the accumulator operation manual.

THE NOTE Installation of accumulators not demanding technical leaving under the standard TL82506 (since December, 1997) and VW75073 (since August, 2001) is supposed only.

Insert the accumulator into an arm.

The basic lath of 1 case AKB should enter into directing 2 arms of fastening АКБ (fig. 7.11).

АКБ should not move more.

Establish fixing bracket 3 accumulators (fig. 7.10).

The ledge in fixing скобе АКБ should enter into dredging on a basic lath of case AKB.

Tighten bolts 4 fixing скобы batteries (fig. 7.10).

Spread a hose 7 central газоотвода АКБ, observe instructions.

Connect plugs AKB at the switched off ignition and the disconnected electroconsumers in the following sequence.

First of all manually spread a polar tip of a positive wire on a positive pole of the accumulator + and tighten a nut 1 (fig. 7.10).

Close a cover 2 positive poles.

Manually spread a polar tip of a wire of weight on a negative pole of the accumulator – and tighten a nut 6 (fig. 7.10).

After installation check up reliability of fastening АКБ.

If wires are connected to accumulator plugs repeatedly, it is necessary to execute following actions.

THE NOTE If АКБ it is connected repeatedly, it is necessary to take care of activating the devices entering into a complete set of the car (a radio tape recorder, radio navigating system, hours, electric glass lifts) according to the operation manual.

Деактивируйте an operating mode of the block of management Telematik.

Check up functioning of remote radio management, if necessary, synchronise a radio code.

After repeated connection of power supplies alarm lamp ESP dies away only through some metres of movement.

The screw to fixing скобе АКБ: 12 Нм.

The storage plug to a polar conclusion: 7,5 Нм.
