7.2.4. Removal and installation of the storage battery in a motor compartment

ATTENTION On cars with system Telematik before switching-off АКБ activate an operating mode of the block of management Telematik. For the cars equipped with a radio tape recorder / by radio navigating system with a protective code (only cars of other manufacturers), consider a protective code, if necessary request it.

Switch off ignition.

Extend a rubber lining of a cover of a water taking away box on an arrow.

Uncover a water taking away box 1 advance (fig. 7.5).

Disconnect a wire of weight 1 from a negative pole of the accumulator and disconnect плюсовой a wire 2 from a positive pole of the accumulator (fig. 7.6).

Unscrew the screw with internal шестигранником 4 on fixing скобе 3 accumulators.

THE NOTE On cars with an extension the screw with internal шестигранником 4 is necessary for unscrewing a key for screws with internal шестигранником with a spherical head.

Unscrew the screw with internal шестигранником until the spherical head of a key will not start to rub about an extension.

Leave the screw with internal шестигранником and fixing bracket on a place and incline the accumulator under fixing bracket.

Pull out a corner central газоотвода (fig. 7.7).

Take the storage battery from a water taking away box.

ATTENTION At recycling of accumulators necessarily observe instructions on recycling of accumulators and sulfuric acid.

Establish in return sequence.

THE NOTE Installation of accumulators not demanding technical leaving under the standard TL82506 (since December, 1997) and VW75073 (since August, 2001) is supposed only.

Accumulators of the program of spare parts Audi have a basic lath-adapter for adaptation to a various lath of fastening. The information on presence and a way of use of a basic lath-adapter is resulted in the accumulator operation manual.

Establish the accumulator in a support so that the ledge of an arm of fastening has entered into dredging in a basic lath of case AKB 1 (fig. 7.8).

АКБ should not move more.

АКБ it is established correctly if average cut of a basic lath of the battery coincides with a carving aperture in a support of the battery (arrow) (fig. 7.9).

Tighten fixing bracket 3 accumulators the screw with internal шестигранником 4 (fig. 7.6).

THE NOTE The ledge in fixing скобе АКБ should enter into dredging on a basic lath of case AKB.

Connect plugs AKB at the switched off ignition and the disconnected electroconsumers in the following sequence.

First of all manually spread a polar tip 2 positive wires on a positive pole of the accumulator + and tighten a nut.

Manually spread a polar tip of 1 wire of weight on a negative pole of the accumulator – and tighten a nut.

Insert a hose central газоотвода, observe instructions.

After installation check up reliability of fastening АКБ.

THE NOTE If АКБ it is connected repeatedly, it is necessary to take care of activating the devices entering into a complete set of the car (a radio tape recorder, radio navigating system, hours, electric glass lifts) according to the operation manual.

Деактивируйте an operating mode of the block of management Telematik.

Check up functioning of remote radio management, if necessary, synchronise a radio code.

After repeated connection of power supplies alarm lamp ESP dies away only through some metres of movement.

The screw to fixing скобе АКБ: 12 Нм.

The storage plug to a polar conclusion: 7,5 Нм.
