4.1.16. Check of radial and lateral palpation of a disk with the tyre by means of the indicator of hour type for tyres V.A.G 1435

Check of lateral palpation
Preliminary pull the indicator of hour type for tyres approximately on 2 mm.

Fig. 4.15. Check of lateral palpation

Put the indicator to sidewallsе tyres (fig. 4.15).
Slowly scroll a wheel.
Write down the minimum and maximum deviation of an arrow.

THE NOTE
If the difference is more 1,3 mm lateral palpation is considered exceeded.

In this case it is possible to reduce it by means of minimisation.
Because of small roughnesses on rubber it is not necessary to consider deviations of an arrow of the indicator.

Check of radial palpation

Fig. 4.16. Check of radial palpation

Preliminary pull the indicator of hour type for tyres approximately on 2 mm (fig. 4.16).
Put the indicator to a tyre protector.
Slowly scroll a wheel.
Write down the minimum and maximum deviation of an arrow.

THE NOTE
If the difference is more 1 mm radial palpation is considered exceeded.

In this case it is possible to reduce it by means of minimisation

Check of radial and lateral palpation of a wheel
Establish a wheel on the balancing stand.
Use цанговый the self-unclenched adapter for balancing stands VAS 5271.
Preliminary pull the indicator of hour type for tyres approximately on 2 mm.

Fig. 4.17. The scheme of check of radial and lateral palpation

Slowly scroll a wheel. Write down the minimum and maximum deviation of an arrow.
S – Lateral palpation.
H – Radial palpation.
Compare the received value to nominal parametres in table 4.4.

THE NOTE
Because of small roughnesses on rubber it is not necessary to consider deviations of an arrow of the indicator.

THE NOTE
If the measured value exceeds nominal it will not be possible to reach normal smoothness of a course.
