5.2.8. Adjustment of the steering mechanism with the hydraulic booster

The assistant is necessary for adjustment. Adjustment is spent at the switched off engine.

Lift the car the lift.

Result wheels in position for movement directly.

At alternate moving to the right-to the left (approximately on 30 from average position) a steering wheel in case of too big backlash in the steering mechanism knock is audible.

Thus the assistant should rotate cautiously the adjusting screw until knock in the car (fig. 5.29) will disappear.

Execute a trial trip.

Thus after maneuvering or journey of turn the steering system should automatically, without jammings, establish operated wheels directly. If necessary modify adjustment.
