5.2.3. Removal and installation of a steering column

Remove a safety pillow from outside the driver.

Remove the lever of adjustment of a steering column (fig. 5.12).

Remove a steering wheel with a safety pillow.

Remove a switch upholstery on a steering column.

Remove подрулевой the switch

To prevent separation of the top and bottom parts of a steering column at removal from the steering mechanism, it is necessary to provide protection.

If the top and bottom parts of a steering column too strongly to move apart or enter each other gear gearing will be separated.

Such оразом at the further operation occurrence of knocks if teeths do not rise in the initial position is possible.

Establish protection of a steering column before removal

Stretch a wire or a collar through an aperture in the bottom part of a steering column and a spring (fig. 5.13).

Wire or collar it is possible to stretch also also through a spring and propeller the hinge with крестовиной.

Disconnect the tip from the switch of a starter / of ignition and the reading out coil.

On cars with an automatic transmission it is necessary to unhook блокиратор.

Before it the switching lever translate in position Р.

The ignition key establish in position B ignition вкл (fig. 5.14).

A little raise blocking hook 1 and take блокиратор 2 of the case of the lock of ignition.

Loosen the the screw.

Disconnect the bottom part of a steering column from the steering amplifier (fig. 5.15).

Unscrew bolts 1

Take a steering column (fig. 5.16).

Installation is carried out in return sequence.

At installation special attention turn on the following.

The new steering columns delivered as spare parts, are fixed by means of shipping protection.

After installation of a steering column in the car this protection is necessary for removing.

Establish a steering column and twist screws 1, but do not tighten (fig. 5.16).

Establish the hinge of a steering column on the amplifier of a steering and twist the screw (fig. 5.15).

Level a steering column without pressure concerning a gear wheel of the amplifier of a steering

Tighten screws of a steering column / a fixing plate.

Tighten the screw of the hinge the helmsman сервопередачи.

Remove shipping / assembly protection.

At cars with an automatic transmission fix блокиратор.

For fastening блокиратора translate the ignition key in position B ignition вкл (fig. 5.17).

The switching lever translate in position Р.

Insert блокиратор 2 into the case of the lock of ignition. Thus watch, that the blocking hook 1 has come into gearing.
