2.2.8. Replacement of the fuel filter (engines TDI)

THE NOTE
Do not suppose hit of diesel fuel on hoses of system of cooling. In case of hit immediately clear hoses.

4-tsil. Diesel engines TDI with pumps-atomizers
Remove a protective cover of the engine.
The fuel filter can be established on a forward partition of a body.
Remove bracket fastenings 3 and a regulator with connected топливопроводами.

Remove fuel hoses from fuel unions 1 and 2 ( fig. 2.40). Tightening a collar 4 arms loosen the also take out the filter from an arm.
The new filter fill with pure diesel fuel. It will allow to start the engine faster.
At installation of a regulator pay attention to position of ring consolidation in the filter case.
Establish a regulator with connected топливопроводами.
Establish bracket fastenings 3.
Fuel hoses insert into corresponding unions 1 and 2 and fix collars.
Start the engine and spend visual check of tightness of fuel system.
6-tsil. Diesel engines 2.5 TDI
Remove bracket fastenings 5.
Remove a regulator 6 with connected топливопроводами.

Remove bracket fastenings 1 and a bolt 2.
Remove a cable collar 4.

Nut 3 unscrew and take out bracket fastenings ( fig. 2.42). Replace the fuel filter.
Tighten bracket fastenings and a bolt 3. The inhaling moment: 10 Нм.
Establish a fuel hose with a bolt 2 and new ring consolidations. The inhaling moment: 23 Нм.
Establish a cable collar 4.
Hose of giving of fuel to put on the union and fix bracket fastenings 1.
Start the engine and spend visual check of tightness of fuel system.
